U2, Coldplay, Daft Punk, Justice, Dirty Projectors and, of course, a number of relevant names in hip hop will form a part of "NBA 2K13", the basketball videogame that 2K Sports plans to put out this autumn. The musical selection was handled by Jay-Z, a fan of the Nets and lover of the sport, who wanted to be involved in every last detail of the project. This was explained by one of the managers of the company creating the game, emphasising that Beyoncé’s husband wanted to leave his mark on “what happens off the court”. The songs that play during intros and outros of the phases of the game, menus and sub-menus and the rest of the moments when there is background music in "NBA 2K13" have been meticulously chosen by Jay, who knows the strong feelings the NBA arouses among spectators very well. The videogame will go on sale this coming 2nd October.
