Adele Surpasses The Sales Of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” In The UK | Music News

The Adele phenomenon is still making history. “21” had already beaten records by staying on the charts in the UK for 66 non-consecutive weeks (23 of them on the podium). Now Official Charts Company has just announced that the album has surpassed the sale of Michael Jackson’s iconic album “Thriller”, having sold 4,274,300 copies so far, with an average of 20,000 albums sold a week. “21” thus becomes the fifth highest-selling album in the history of the UK, surpassed only by Queen’s “Greatest Hits”, the historic “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” by The Beatles, ABBA’s “ABBA Gold” and “(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?” by Oasis.
