The UK Will Have A Music Streaming Chart

The list will represent the new form of music consumption

The UK Will Have A Music Streaming Chart | Music News

On Monday 14th June at 1 pm, the UK will see the launch of the first 'Official Streaming Chart'. The way people consume music has changed over the past few years, thanks to the new streaming services. That's why, adapting to the new reality, the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA) and the association of record labels BPI will set up a weekly chart of the 100 most streamed songs in the UK. Using info from Spotify, Deezer, Napster, We7, Zune (from Xbox Live) and the new mobile service ChartsNow, we'll know which artists are the most popular on these platforms every week. So far, 2012 will be dominated by Ed Sheeran, Lana del Rey, David Guetta, Rihanna and Coldplay.
