Cover versions, edits, rarity compilations and reissues of his classic recordings make Arthur Russell one of the most vindicated artists in recent years. His story (he died of AIDS in 1992) is relevant for Red Hot's cause, so it's no wonder the organisation has taken him as the subject for its new campaign.
Red Hot is working on a tribute album entitled “This Is How We Walk on the Moon”, on which artists such as Twin Shadow, Washed Out, Laurel Halo, Robyn, Devendra Banhart, Scissor Sisters, Javelin, and Hot Chip, among others, do their renditions of tracks from Russell's versatile catalogue. To help finance the project, a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter has been started here.
We leave you with the tentative, as of yet incomplete tracklist.
