Claire Boucher wants to explore different musical fields from the synthetic pop she's been manufacturing so far under her Grimes moniker. That's why the Canadian is thinking about a new project for her more experimental side. In a recent interview with MTV Hive, Boucher said that she's been “working on more percussive noise music and also a lot of straight vocal music. I want to make dark percussive shit and... release an album that's halfway between ethereal reggaeton and industrial dance music but is still very pop in its song [structures].” Ethereal reggaeton?
In other news, Boucher also revealed that she's planning to follow up to her first pieces of jewellery (remember her “pussy rings”) with a collection of chainmail clothing, once again designed in collaboration with Morgan Black.
