At the end of last summer, following the release of the video for “Carbonated” (the third and final episode in the visual trilogy thought up by Tyrone Lebon for Mount Kimbie’s debut album), Dominic Maker and Kai Campos announced that they were ending the cycle of “Crooks & Lovers” (Hotflush, 2010). They let us know that from then on, their concentration would be focused on gathering input and ideas for what would become their second work. Well, yesterday we found out that this second Mount Kimbie album will be coming on the Warp Records label.
The duo gave us this news through their social channels, showing their happiness with this brief statement:
“[We are] excited and honoured to announce that we have signed to Warp Records! We're looking forward to working together for a long time and feel this is the perfect home for our future endeavours.
We would like to say a big thank you to Hotflush Recordings for all the work they have done and express our gratitude to everyone that has supported us along the way.
Excited for the future,
Kai & Dom”.
The label has also confirmed that Mount Kimbie are in the middle of the process of recording their second album. There is no word yet, though, about when it might be out.
