Justin Vernon Collaborates With Rapper Astronautalis

An album is on the way

Justin Vernon Collaborates With Rapper Astronautalis | Music News

More than once in recent months, Justin Vernon has taken it upon himself to remind us that we shouldn’t expect a new Bon Iver album in the near future. But this doesn’t mean that he intends to stray far from the studio. Via City Pages, we have found out that the soul of Bon Iver has been recording with rapper Astronautalis (whose real name is Andy Bothwell), from Minneapolis. The duo, backed up by people around him like S. Carey and Ryan Olson from Gayngs, recorded an entire album in Vernon’s April Base studios, over barely a weekend of intense work “propelled by whiskey”. Vernon, Carey and Olson have carried the weight of the musical part, with Astronautalis handling the rhymes. According to the latter, the group wants to put the album out really quickly, so keep your eyes open.
