Jack White Will Compose The Soundtrack For Disney’s “The Lone Ranger” | Music News

Just a few days after releasing his debut solo album, “Blunderbuss”, Jack White now has a new commission: to write and produce the soundtrack for the coming adaptation of “The Lone Ranger” being prepared by Disney. The film will be out in American theatres on 31st May, 2013, directed by Gore Verbinski and starring Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson and Helena Bonham Carter. According to Jerry Bruckheimer, the film’s producer, "Jack's an amazing songwriter with a unique style. We're thrilled to hear his fresh take on the William Tell Overture." It seems that he was chosen by Verbinski himself: "Gore hatched the idea and Johnny was thrilled with it."

This is not Jack White’s first foray into the film world. Along with Alicia Keys, he composed “Another Way To Die”, a song for “Quantum Of Solace”, and he also performed in “Cold Mountain”.
