Next, we’ll review the crop of 2012 as far as songs go; the ones that have caught our attention and stuck in our minds. They are in alphabetical order, coming to a total of 45 possible anthems of the year.
We’re taking stock these days (and up until tomorrow) - as we are just about to enter into August - and it would not be complete without the songs, the tracks, loose pieces that have an enormous value individually, even separated from the album or EP that they form a part of. Coming up with a list like this, at this time of the year, is no mean feat: there is an enormous amount of valuable material that obligates us to discard pieces that might make a comeback in our iPod over the rest of the year. At the same time, there will be songs that we’re really into now that will lose steam as the weeks pass. In any case, this is the list as of 30th July, in alphabetical order. In December, the final verdict will be issued, as we count down to a number 1 that, for now, we can only barely make out in the distance.
