Here's the sixth capsule created by PlayGround TV and produced by San Miguel, with footage shot at San Miguel Primavera Sound 2012. Today we feature Richard Hawley, chatting with him in Sheffield and enjoying his concert in Barcelona.
San Miguel Primavera Sound had a perfect ending when Richard Hawley, the troubadour from Sheffield, stepped onto the Arc de Triomf stage on Sunday, closing the festival with a free concert, presenting the songs from his latest album, “Standing At The Sky’s Edge”. He played some earlier songs, too, heavily influenced by Roy Orbison. But most of all, he put on his rock & roll shoes to transmit energy, emotion and strength. Richard Hawley is an honest and friendly man, and we went on a round trip with him, during which time he showed that his affability and friendliness isn't just a pose. We spent time with him in Barcelona and in his neighbourhood in his native Sheffield, a place he never wanted to leave.
With Hawley we come to number 6 of the capsules taking us to the special moments and relevant figures of this year’s San Miguel Primavera Sound, after Wilco, The Cure, The Drums, Yann Tiersen, and Black Lips, paving the way for the September release of our documentary “Primavera”, to be premiered on PlayGround in four parts, produced by San Miguel and PlayGround in collaboration with San Miguel Primavera Sound and Centset. It will be here soon. Also watch the documentary trailer.
