The second of six capsules created by PlayGround TV, with footage from San Miguel Primavera Sound 2012. Today we bring you some exciting close-ups of The Cure and their pre-concert warm-up ritual.
This is the series we started last Wednesday, observing some of the bands playing at San Miguel Primavera Sound 2012 from up close. After The Drums, the pups of melodramatic electronic pop, today we have the godfathers of that sound, The Cure. PlayGround TV followed Robert Smith and company from the moment they started preparing for their concert (check out the band leader's motivational jumps, like a footballer before walking onto the pitch) to their performance of “High”, one of the, er, highlights of their historical gig at the Barcelona festival. Watch some great close-ups and intimate moments during the concert, the friendly and characteristic gestures of the singer and the ecstatic faces of their thousands of fans.
These six capsules, premiered weekly, are a complementary prelude to the documentary, “Primavera” – which is about San Miguel Primavera Sound and is co-produced by San Miguel and PlayGround TV. It will be out by the end of September, when we will present you with the first of its four chapters. Also see the trailer we premiered a few weeks ago.
