Colour Explosion On The New Björk

Premiere of the video for “Mutual Core”

Sooner or later, “Mutual Core”, one of Björk's “Biophilia” fans' favourites, had to get its own video. Directed by Andrew Thomas Huang, the piece features Björk up to her waist in sand, in the company of a bunch of strange creatures thar are unnerving, terrifying and beautiful at the same time. We leave you with the clip, posted onto YouTube by MOCAtv, the digital extension of the education and exhibition programming of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.

A few hours ago, this sober, elegant reformulation of his "Lion", done by Jamie xx, appeared on Four Tet’s SoundCloud. The member of The xx stripped down the original 4x4 song to turn its seven minutes into an absorbing stroll at different rhythms. Listen to it after these lines.

Flying Lotus Plays Unreleased Tunes On Diplo's Show On BBC Radio 1

The LA producer delivered an hour and a half worth of music including lots of his own material

Last weekend, Flying Lotus was one of the special guests on Diplo and Friends, Diplo's show on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. The Brainfeeder boss contributed a special set featuring - apart from tracks by Captain Murphy, ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, araabMUZIK, and The Gaslamp Killer (who got his own 'mix within the mix') - a lot of his own music. And that included two so far unreleased tracks (“Flotus” and “I Don't Know Yet”), and his remixes of Frank Ocean's “Thinkin Bout You” and Jay-Z and Kanye West's “Niggas in Paris”. Listen to the full set after the jump.

Grizzly Bear Premiere The Video For “Yet Again”

Film fantasy produced by The Creators Project

The credits of Grizzly Bear’s new video include positions and tasks such as underwater camera operator and special effects technician. There are also four actors, none of whom are from the band. The video for “Yet Again”, shot in Toronto, is a film fantasy; we don’t end up knowing for sure whether there is something paranormal to it, or whether it simply reflects the escapist fantasizing of a mind (that of the skater who is the star) under a great deal of pressure. Directed by Emily Kai Bock with executive production by The Creators Project.

Andy Stott Shares “Numb”

First advance track from his album “Luxury Problems”

A few weeks ago, when the Modern Love label gave out the basic release details of “Luxury Problems”, they hinted at a new twist in the sound of Andy Stott. The first-time use of vocals the label talked about in the press release is now confirmed with “Numb”, a strangely magnetic track featuring the whispers of Alison Skidmore over distant sounding techno, smothered in dense atmospheres. Scott is going for more clarity and purity with a six-and-a-half-minute long, deeply hypnotic song that sounds like a marriage between the spirits of Basic Chanel and Tri Angle. “Luxury Problems” is due out on 29th October.

The Pastoral Beauty Of Sigur Rós

“Ekki Múkk”, the tenth chapter of ‘Valtary Mystery Film Experiment’

With the premiere of the new video for “Ekki Múkk”, directed by Nick Abrahams, Sigur Rós' ‘Valtary Mystery Film Experiment’ reaches its tenth chapter. The piece follows a man played by Aidan Gillen (who you'll know from his part as a dubious politician in “The Wire” or as the charismatic Littlefinger in “Game of Thrones”) walking through the English countryside. On his way, he meets a talking snail (voiced by folk singer Shirley Collins). Pastoral beauty.

Sigur Rós Present The Ninth Episode In Their “Valtari Mystery Film Experiment”

Cult director John Cameron Mitchell brings us “Seraph”

Faithful to their bimonthly pace, Sigur Rós now present the ninth episode in their “Valtari Mystery Film Experiment” series, in which the Icelanders gave a series of creators the same tight budget to develop visual accompaniments for the songs on their recent album, “Valtari”, without any type of guideline or supervision from the band. “Seraph”, takes fragments of two of their songs, “Reumbihnútur” and “Ekki Múkk”. At the wheel this time are Dash Shaw and John Cameron Mitchell, director of cult films such as “Hedwig And The Angry Inch” and “Shortbus”.
