Paul Rose, aka Scuba, is the latest to participate in British Fact Magazine’s FACT Mix series. His was number 353 in the renowned series, and as usual in this type of situation, Rose used the mix as another tool for promoting his label, Hotflush. On 4th December, Carpark is releasing Memory Tapes' third album, “GRACE/ CONFUSION”. In order to get people warmed up, Dayve Hawk has just released another mixtape. About a half hour's worth of original material; B-sides, remixes, extracts from “Black Reel”, and songs from that upcoming LP. There's no tracklist, so you're going to have guess which songs falls into which category.

Last weekend, Flying Lotus was one of the special guests on “Diplo and Friends”, Diplo's show on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. The Brainfeeder boss contributed a special set featuring - apart from tracks by Captain Murphy, ScHoolboy Q, A$AP Rocky, araabMUZIK, and The Gaslamp Killer (who got his own 'mix within the mix') - a lot of his own music. And that included two so far unreleased tracks (“Flotus” and “I Don't Know Yet”), and his remixes of Frank Ocean's “Thinkin Bout You” and Jay-Z and Kanye West's “Niggas in Paris”. DJ Cheeba, DJ Moneyshot and DJ Food, three of the resident DJs at Ninja Tune's radio show Solid Steel, have made their own version of the legendary “Paul's Boutique” album by Beastie Boys, in the form of a mix using all the original records sampled on the historic LP, alongside comments by the band, fragments of old interviews and alternative versions of the tracks. It's been years since we last heard a mix by Justice. The wait is now over, after their appearance on French radio station NRJ, where they recorded a two-hour set to prove they haven't lost their DJ touch. You know the drill: primitive energy, hypertrophic bass lines, French touches, rave spirit and hits, many hits. Spot on.

The people of Butterz are living the internationalisation of grim first-hand. After Elijah's many USA trips, now there's this mixtape, on which the co-owner of the London label teams up with local DMC champion DJ Shiftee.
