The Reunion Islands are the place in which Alex Barck (Jazzanova, Prommer & Barck) decided to find shelter and inspiration for the creation of "Re-set", the first single in a series of 12"s that will set the way to his first solo album ever: and, guess what, it will be titled after those heavenly islands as "Reunion". Pete Josef sings in this ultra-deep house track, expected to be released on wax next January 28th.
Since the release of the legendary "Kernkraft 400" in 1999, the Munich based DJ and producer Florian Senfter aka Zombie Nation has become one of the greatest exponents of booming techno and propulsive, synth-driven, electro dance cuts. "RGB" is his fifth studio album and “Sweepy”, its first appetiser, shows the producer's most hypertrophic sound. The release date is set for 10th December via Turbo.
Though he's not revealing his true identity for now, Captain Murphy has kept his promise and released “Duality”, his first mixtape. Apart from the Flying Lotus productions we already knew the record includes new compositions with beats by producers like Clams Casino, Madlib, Just Blaze, and TNGHT. You can listen to it after the jump, or, even better, you can go to the website, where you can hear the tunes and watch the lysergic visuals that come with them, in which he combines images of sects, oriental cinema, video games, animation series and porn
SOHN, whom we’ve already mentioned to you a couple of times, are going strong. Proof of this is that the mysterious duo have also been asked to remix “Ride” by Lana Del Rey, making it into an ambient synth piece with a darker tone than the original. Did you think that all of the remixes of the latest melodramatic pop diva were going to be for dancing?
"56k" by Hot Sugar and Heems (the vocalist from Das Racist, for newcomers) is the silly wet dream of many a nostalgia freak; not just the beat, the video too. How many times have we “hummed” the little noise that our first 56-kb modem made? I don’t know about you, but we have to admit it. The New Yorker’s song takes us back to our first IRC love, to those two-day waits at Kazaa to download the latest banger, to that world designed in Dreamweaver that opened before us.
