Retro Net.Art With Hot Sugar And Heems

Check out the video for "56k", an ode to the modems of yesteryear

"56k" by Hot Sugar and Heems (the vocalist from Das Racist, for newcomers) is the silly wet dream of many a nostalgia freak; not just the beat, the video too. How many times have we “hummed” the little noise that our first 56-kb modem made? I don’t know about you, but we have to admit it. The New Yorker’s song takes us back to our first IRC love, to those two-day waits at Kazaa to download the latest banger, to that world designed in Dreamweaver that opened before us. Listen and download the Hot Sugar EP here.
