A couple of months have gone by since Grinderman hit us over the head with that unnerving video of “Evil”, in which a parakeet shares the screen with a terrifying submarine creature. Remember? Now they’re back with the electric storm of “Mickey Mouse And The Goodbye Man”, also from “Grinderman 2” (Mute, 2010). The piece, directed by animator Ilinca Höpfner, features Nick Cave, Warren Ellis and company (or rather, cartoon versions of them), and it’s as fierce as its predecessor, thanks to such “disturbing” images as the Cave drinking from a breast before turning into a bloodthirsty werewolf. Remember, it’s less than a week now until you can see the band performing at San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011.
Grinderman will be playing May 26 at San Miguel stage at 23:00 h. San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 takes place on 25 and 29 May at Poble Español, and from 26 to 28 May at Parc del Forum in Barcelona. Tickets are on sale here.
