There’s an Italian proverb that says summer is the mother of the poor. We imagine it has something to do with the high temperatures inviting us to la vida loca, nights on the tiles and such. And if temptations close to home weren’t enough, Friendly Fires encourage us to pack our bags and set sail to Hawaii, in search of waves, garlands, coffee-coloured ladies and delicious fruits. They’ve asked the pale faced Orlando Higginbottom (aka Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs) to remix one of their tracks. Who needs air conditioning when you can have “Hawaiian Air”? Say “aloha” to the good life, even if it’s only in dreams.
Friendly Fires will be appearing at Festival Internacional de Benicàssim 2011. You can get your tickets here
