With this video, BBC Radio 1 announced the transmission of a peculiar showcase via Gilles Peterson’s show: Gerry “The Trasher” Gibbs (on the drums), Stephen “Thundercat” Bruner (on bass), Andreya Triana (soulful vocals), Rebekah Raff (harp), Ravi Coltrane (sax), Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (violin) and Andres Renteria (percussion) teamed up with Flying Lotus to record a special session at the legendary Maida Vale Studios in London. The results of the encounter were broadcast yesterday around 2am (GMT), and thanks to the swiftness of some people (Some Kind Of Awesome, in this case), the audio is already on the web.
