Fleet Foxes

Grown Ocean

Artist: Fleet Foxes

And then there were three songs we can hear from “Helplessness Blues”, Fleet Foxes’ new album. After “Helplessness Blues” and “Battery Kinzie”, now it’s time for “Grown Ocean”, the record’s closing track. The song comes enclosed in a kind of mini documentary created from images showing the band working in the studio, on tour and out and about, enjoying the nature they so much love. This precious and carefully put together visual exercise (with grainy photography) serves to accompany a track, which, as the Seattle band has use accustomed to, features sophisticated melodies. Robin Pecknold says that the influence from country music is especially obvious on this song, mainly due to the use of the slide guitar. The album will be in stores on 3rd May, via Sub Pop.

San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011 takes place on 25 and 29 May at Poble Español, and from 26 to 28 May at Parc del Forum in Barcelona. Tickets are on sale here.
