Dum Dum Girls And 50s Fringes

Release of the video for “Coming Down”

Artist: Dum Dum Girls

Record Label: Sub Pop

Genre: indie pop, garage

Coming Down”, the first advance from “Only In Dreams (Sub Pop, 2011), which so moved us the first time we heard it, finally has a video. The piece that accompanies this overwhelming ballad intended for Dee Dee Penny’s deceased mother is filmed in glorious black and white, starring Penny herself with a very 50s coif and a series of people cutting pieces off her dress. An allegory for the bites that life takes out of us when we lose someone we love? Directed by Malia James.
