If you missed out on Battles’ gig last Friday at San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011, here’s the second part of their performance for the “Concerts A Emporter” on La Blogotheque. The new Battles took the Bertrand del Hotel de Ville in Paris to make our heads bop to “Wall Street”. Although they only had permission to use the space for two-and-a-half hours, the band and crew ended up prolonging their stay to four, partly because the boys insisted on playing “Futura”. They say they were feeling tired when they recorded this, but it doesn’t show – the energy they display in the video is tremendous. Could it be post-production, or are the New Yorkers simply like a steamroller? Remember that coming Monday, “Gloss Drop” will, err, drop on Warp.
