Next week, “Square” is due out, Redshape’s second album, his first for Running Back. In the wake of the applauded “The Dance Paradox”, the man in the red mask has taken advantage of the full-length format to embrace a more diverse sound palette than that of his full-lengths, opening up to styles like ambient and downtempo. His collaboration with The Spaceape on the crepuscular “Until We Burn” also stands out. Even so, followers of his initial sound will still find their familiar Redshape in cuts like “It's In The Rain” or the new version of the classic “The Playground”. You can listen to the album in its entirety via Resident Advisor.
