We would have imagined it more likely that the Danes When Saints Go Machine would do a cover of some dark synth-pop song or hedonistic house; but really, considering how they get off on strings, it should have come as no surprise to us that they decided to do a cover of “Bitter Sweet Symphony” by The Verve. The great classic of Brit-pop is transformed here into a deconstructed piece of elliptical pop with electronic seasoning, moving through the same territory of light and dark as their international debut album, “Konkylie” (!K7, 2011). We’ll stick with the original ourselves, although the reinterpretation is beyond curious
