Edmonton duo Purity Ring are ready to release their first full-length, “Shrine”, on 24th July on 4AD and Last Gang. And judging from the advance tracks so far, it's going to be one of the records of the summer. Two new tracks from it have surfaced recently, “Saltkin” and “Grandloves”, both moving in the synth-pop waters close to ethereal witch-house, with nods to R&B and certain emotions that, though from a different viewpoint, bring them to the neighbourhood where people like The xx live. Promising indeed.
