It’s no surprise that XL has commissioned Julio Bashmore to do a remix of Bobby Womack. The Bristol producer is accustomed to weaving floor-burners around soulful vocalists, and this case is no exception. Transforming the disco vibrations of “Love Is Gonna Lift You Up” into nightlife house co-ordinates, Bashmore cooks up another call to the dance floor based on tense melodies and elastic bass.
