Foreign Fields (previously known as Flights), a duo from Wisconsin residing in Nashville, have just self-released their promising first album, “Anywhere But Where I Am”. You can acquire it via their Bandcamp page, on CD with home-made packaging for the price of 9.99 dollars. The songs included on it were recorded over the course of a year - between the suffocating summer of the city where they are established and an abandoned office building in the middle of the winter in Wisconsin (where they lived previously). As a taster, we leave you with three of the songs - “Anywhere But Where I Am”, “Names And Races” and “The River Kings” - moments that show their maturity and appreciation of quiet folk-pop, with frugal instrumentation and a melancholic mood that at times reminds one of a more sober, introverted Bon Iver.
