If you are into the history of Detroit's electronic music, its legacy and its labels, you will probably know about Interdimensional Transmissions. Launched in the mid nineties by Brendan Gillen (alias BMG) and Erika Sherman of Ectomorph as a “reaction to DBX, Basic Channel, Rob Hood, Sähkö and Drexciya”, the label quietly returned in late 2001 after a hiatus that lasted almost three years. That hiatus is now over, and the label is preparing a steady run of new releases for 2012 beginning with a collaboration between BMG & Derek Plaslaiko entitled “Is Your Mother Home?”. Today we are premiering the second track in the EP, “When is she coming back? (BMG dub)”. Also, below, is the video for “Is Your Mother Home”, courtesy of fellow Detroit video artist dvdan, and “produced with a new methodology based on techniques used to produce music, and recorded in a single take”. “Is Your Mother Home” is out now on Interdimensional Transmissions.
