Dark Dark Dark, Back In The Autumn

Listen to “Tell Me”, the serene first single from their new album

Artist: Dark Dark Dark

Record Label: Melodic, Supply And Demand

Genre: indie pop...

Complying with their two-yearly assignment, Minneapolis band Dark Dark Dark will release their third studio album, Who Needs Who”, via Melodic on 1st October (Supply And Demand Music will release it a day later in the USA). The record was recorded in New Orleans, after a break that lasted several months following the breakup of singer Nona Marie Invie and co-founder and producer Marshall LaCount. The unease deriving from the breakup was palpable in the studio at first, but the music turned out to be soothing and the final result promises to be fantastic. For now, they're sharing their first single, Tell Me”, on which they move away a bit from the folk-pop of their early days. In fact, the piano at the start is reminiscent of Real Love” by Beach House, and the further development of the tune is like the serener tracks by Arcade Fire. What hasn't changed is the warmth of Nona Marie Invie's voice.
