Craft Spells Reinterpret The Wake

A respectful cover of “Talk About The Past”

Artist: Craft Spells, The Wake

Record Label: Captured Tracks

Genre: new wave, post-punk

In case you couldn’t get your hands on one of the very few vinyl copies of “Gruesome Flowers 2” that they put out this last Record Store Day, here is Craft Spells’ cover of “Talk About The Past” by The Wake, with a view of that 7". As was to be expected—the Scottish band is among their recognised influences—Justin Paul Vallesteros has paid a respectful homage, maintaining all of the key elements and that 80s aura that places the sound somewhere between new wave and post-punk.
