Aksel Shaufler, better known as Superpitcher, is a German electronic music DJ and producer signed to Kompakt. He is a regular collaborator of Michael Mayer (in Supermayer) and Mexican producer Rebolledo (in Pachanga Boys). His sound is influenced by pop, rock and electronic genres like minimal techno and house. At 16, Schaufer started to collect music by bands like Prefab Sprout, Scritti Politti and Roxy Music. In the late nineties he moved to Cologne, where he started working in the distribution department of Kompakt and began deejaying at clubs all over town, including Kompakt's Total Confusion nights.
His record debut came with the song “Shadows” on the compilation “Total 2”. In 2001 he released his first proper EP, the acclaimed “Heroin”. He then focused on his work as a DJ, as well as remixing tracks for the likes of Tocotronic, Pantom Ghost, DNTEL and M83. After several EPs, in 2004 he released his first album, “Save The World”, with Supermayer. In September 2010 his second album came out, “Kilimanjaro”.
