Sam Shackleton is a British electronic music producer from Lancashire, currently based in Berlin. He is the co-founder of the now defunct Skull Disco label, and is known for his dark and dense productions on the border of dubstep and dub-techno, featuring African percussion. His first single was “Stalker”, released on Mordant Music in 2004. In 2005 he started Skull Disco, alongside British producer Appleblim. The label remained active until 2008, releasing ten singles and two compilations. In 2007, the Ricardo Villalobos remix of his track “Blood On My Hands” won him fame outside of the dubstep circles. In 2009 he released the triple vinyl “Three EPs” on the German Perlon label, and in 2010 he founded Woe To The Septic Heart!, a new label for his music. That same year he compiled the mix CD “Fabric 55”, made up entirely of his own productions. In 2011 he and British producer Pinch released the album “Pinch & Shackleton” on Honest Jon’s - the label on which he had released two EPs a few months earlier. Again, they could be classed as labyrinthine dubstep, full of complex rhythms.
