Paul Rose, better known as Scuba, is an electronic music producer and DJ from London, currently residing in Berlin. Initially he was known as one of the key figures in dubstep, but in recent times he has made a turn towards house and techno. He is the founder of Hotflush Recordings, one of the key labels in the birth and evolution of the dubstep genre. He's also responsible for the Sub:Stance nights at Berlin club Berghain / Panoramabar.
Scuba made his debut in 2006 with the single “Harpoon / Dream” and has since released seven EPs and three albums, alongside several releases in collaboration with producers like Martsman, Toasty and Dissident. Both “A Mutual Antipathy” (2008) and “Triangulation” (2010) - his two studio albums - part from misty dubstep to approach other sounds, including cold techno and dub (similar to his vinyl series released under the name SCB). In 2011 he released “DJ-Kicks”, his first official DJ mix, which explores powerful bass-lines and heavy moods. On 27th February 2012 his third album is released, “Personality”, on which he also opens up to house, rave and progressive, much in the vein of his 2011 single “Adrenalin”.
