Aaron Jerome, better known as SBTRKT (pronounced “subtract”), is a musician, producer and DJ from London. His sound is a mix of 2-step, UK funky, dubstep, R&B and Chicago house. He started his DJ career at the London Plastic People club. His first releases were remixes of Radiohead's “Everything In Its Right Place” and Goldie's “Timeless”, in 2009. In 2010 he signed with Young Turks, on which he made his debut with the single “Soundboy Shift”. In 2011 he released his debut album, “SBTRKT”. The record featured vocal contributions by the likes of Sampha and Jessie Ware, and has a more relaxed and downtempo feel than the previous, house and club orientated EPs. Besides his own productions, SBTRKT has remixed tracks from artists like M.I.A, Radiohead, Modeselektor, Basement Jaxx, Mark Ronson and Underworld. On stage he plays in the company of singer Sampha. In order to preserve his anonymity, Jerome always appears in photos and on stage wearing a tribal mask.
