Russell Whyte, better known as Rustie, is a Scottish electronic music DJ and producer currently based in London. He became known as a member of Wireblock, one of the labels that would end up as an integral part of the Numbers conglomerate. His music is a mix of different styles, including crunk, electro, dubstep, grime and techno: he's usually tagged as part of the wonky scene, though he has jokingly labelled his sound ‘aquacrunk’. Rustie made his debut in 2007 with the EP “Jagz The Smack” and has since been regarded as one of the most promising talents to emerge from the Glasgow scene, along with his friend Hudson Mohawke. Releases like “Zig-Zag” and “Bad Science”, both on Wireblock, caught the attention of Warp Records, which signed him in 2010. In 2011 his debut album “Glass Swords” came out, regarded as one of the most visionary electronic music albums in recent history.
