Danilo Plessow, better known as Motor City Drum Ensemble, is a German house music producer based in Stuttgart. His sound combines elements of jazz, soul, funk, hip-hop and classic Chicago and Detroit house. He started playing drums at the tender age of six. He was quickly accepted into the school big band, where he discovered his love for jazz. When he was eleven he started producing his own music, using a computer and samplers. His first releases were alongside Joachim Thomas with the Inverse Cinematics project, making their debut on Pulver Records in 2002. In 2007 he started to work solo as Motor City Drum Ensemble. The project's first release was the single “Escape To Nowhere / Breath Control”, which came out in 2007 on Four Roses Recordings. In 2008 he started his series “Raw Cuts”, which made him one of the most popular deep-house artists on the underground house scene. In 2011 he released his first official DJ mix, as part of the “DJ Kicks” series.
