Matías Aguayo is a Chilean DJ and producer who spent the nineties deejaying in renowned Cologne clubs like the legendary Liquid Sky. With Michael Mayer and Dirk Leyers he created two parallel projects, Zimt and Closer Musik, respectively. The latter in particular is key to understand the origin's of the city's techno sound, with visions of ambient and a sensitive and hypnotic kind of pop music. Later on, he also formed the band Broke, with Marcus Rossknecht, releasing two singles on Kompakt Pop and Kompakt Extra. From 2005 on he has been producing music on his own. First for Kompakt - where he released two albums, “Are You Really Lost” and “Ay Ay Ay” - and later for Cómeme, his own label. Possessing a Latino flavour, the label's roster includes Mexican producers like Daniel Maloso and Rebolledo.
