Labels: 3024, Brainfeeder
Martijn Deykers, or Martyn, is a Dutch producer and DJ from Eindhoven, currently based in Washington DC. He started his career in 1996 spinning drum'n'bass. In 2005 he made his debut with drum'n'bass single “Get Down / Black Lies”. As from 2006, he started showing a move towards dubstep territory, while at the same time incorporating elements from dub-techno and house. In 2007 he started his own label, 3024, with producer Erosie, although he continued to release tracks on labels like Tempa, Applepips and Hessle Audio, full of deep bass-lines and dynamic breaks. Little by little, he started to adopt a more concise shape at a 4x4 tempo, with, at the same time, a darkly liquid texture. “Great Lengths”, his first album, came out in 2009, and in 2010 he contributed to the Fabric DJ mix series, “Fabric 50”. In 2011 he signed with Californian label Brainfeeder for his second LP, “Ghost People”, on which he goes deeper into the fusion of techno and dubstep.
