The Haxan Cloak is the stage name of multi-instrumentalist Bobby Krlic, who, though born in Yorkshire, is currently based in London. He made his debut in 2009 with a self-titled EP and signed with Aurora Borealis a year later, on which he released the (very limited edition) single “Observatory”. His self-titled first album was released in June 2011 on the same Dalston label. In December 2011 he signed with Tri Angle, and he released a remix by Holy Other. A new EP slated for release in 2012. His sound navigates the territory between doom metal, ambient, drone, neo-classical minimalism, folk and noise - made with instruments like the cello, violin, carillon and guitar - mixed with field recordings, organic percussion and vocal manipulations.
