After twenty years, Malinese band Tinariwenare one of the few African bands that regularly appear in the Anglo-Saxon specialised music media (specialised in pop and rock, that is). Their mix of traditional assouf music, Malinese blues and rock has taken them to the stages of festivals like Glastonbury, Coachella and Roskilde; landing them the praise of people like Thom Yorke, Chris Martin and Brian Eno. Their links with the Euro-Atlantic hemispheres are tightened some more with their recent “Tassili” (Anti-, 2011). Whilst they were in the company of TV On The Radio in the videoof “Tenere Taqqim Tossam”, today their music comes to us via Four Tet. Kieran Hebden has added some synthetic pulses, electronic beats and jazz percussion to the Tuareg band's latest single.
