Like it or not, Björk is a musical legend of our time and myths deserve veneration. The queen of Scandinavian electropop, the Swede Robyn, did her duty by making a cover version of the classic “Hyperballad”, and Wildbirds & Peacedrums did likewise with another classic, “Human Behaviour”, at the Polar Music Prize ceremony, celebrated last Monday in Stockholm. Both covers are all the more spectacular than the originals in that they are led by a full orchestra. The use of classical musicians can be interpreted as a nod to Italian legend Ennio Morricone, who received an award on the night. The Polar Music Prize was founded in 1989 and has an astounding list of laureates, including Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell , Quincy Jones, and Led Zeppelin.
