The cinematic adventure of PJ Harvey and war photographer Seamus Murphy has come to an end. This is the 12th video Murphy made for the songs of “Let England Shake” (Island, 2011). They left “All And Everyone” for the end, maybe because, in the words of the maker, “it was the film [he] most looked forward to making, and the most dreaded.” With it, the two put the finishing touch to a series of videos that have given us an infinite amount of inspiring places and allegoric images recently. It’s the perfect ending. The video for “All And Everyone” might be the most sober of all. There’s no narration as a prologue as on other tracks, and most of the shots are fixed this time. Many shots of a wild ocean, again some roses placed on coffins and a collection of trees that seem taken from fantasy tales. That’s how this personal tale of one of the bloodiest episodes of the Gallipoli campaign is visualised..
