In the end, it turns out that “Creature” we told you about last week is not signed by Mr. INTL but by the androgynous Kim Ann Foxman alone. Produced by Andrew Butler, this retro house gem comes with a real, old-style dance music video. And you can tell Foxman has invested quite a lot of money in it, with art directors (does Silvia Prada sound familiar to you?), dancers, hairstylists, makeup artists, costume stylists (with assistants) and a whole team of interns. Jonathan Turner has directed a video with marked retro aesthetics, reminiscent of that late ’80s New York scene characterized by voguing and the excesses of Club Kids. So far away, yet so close.
