Julio Bashmore is one of the new dance luminaries coming from the Bristol scene, although, unlike many of his fellow citizens, he's not so much focussing on the bass mutations but on the golden age of American house. Now, confirming he's definitively playing in the premier league of dance music, Bashmore has been invited to do his first “Essential Mix” for BBC Radio 1. As expected, the young talent delivers a set full of house in all its forms. With American classics like Larry Heard, Chip E, Robert Owens and Terrence Parker, new Europeans like Motor City Drum Ensemble and Kink & Neville Watson and British spearheads like Joy O and Scuba; Bashmore offers a juicy mix that shows that, apart from being a brilliant producer, he's also an excellent DJ who knows what he's doing.
