Revived synth-master Harald Grosskopfwill be one of the big names at this year’s Unsound Festival New York. The German is one of the cult heroes of the first Kosmische wave and has recently resurfaced thanks to the reissue of “Synthesist” on RVNG Int. It was to be expected that the musician would complete his comeback with a return to the stage, and Unsound is the first to take him on. During what’s going to be his first ever American gig, Grosskopf will play “Synthesist” in its entirety and he will do so accompanied by many of the artists who have collaborated on the remix album included with the aforementioned reissue. A.R.P., Blondes, Laurel Halo, Pink Skull, Julianna Barwick and James Ferraro, among others, will join him on stage. The evening will be completed with the performances of Alan Howarth and Emeralds. It is, therefore, a must-attend event for the followers of the most cosmic side of synthesiser music. When? On 8th April at Le Poisson Rouge. To get an idea of what you can expect, here’s two side of the same coin.
Unsound Festival New York takes place from 1 to 10 April, at various locations in New York. Tickets are on sale here.
