Ln the music of Forest Swords there is no room for borders - not between countries nor between styles. Furthermore, time doesn’t exist in it. Their sound lies in a place far from noise, alone in the night, crouching low. Their unique mix of cinematic epic (a la Morricone) with expansive psychedelica, desolate post-rock, moody dub and dark dubstep make their music perfect unusual-remix material. Which is what Holy Strays and C Powers have been doing, on No Pain In Pop’s request. Both remixes intend to draw your attention to the “ Fjree Feather EP ” - the record the British label released last June – a benefit record for the Japanese Red Cross. Let these two tracks – particularly the first, by Holy Strays - serve as a reminder of the intriguing sound of Mike Barnes.
