Django Django Think Up A Virtual World For “Hail Bop”
Impressive video by Daniel Swann
Django Django are about to premiere a new single, “Hail Bop”, one of the most infectious songs from their debut album. It will be out on 13th August on Because Music, featuring remixes by Bullion, Jealov, Daniel Avery and Andy Blake. But those reworks are going to have a hard time standing out as much as the video Daniel Swann has made for the tune. According to the maker, “the concept was really to have these people in this architectural setting and have their lives destroyed in some way, or maybe carried upwards to a higher plain by an event that they couldn't control. The meaning of the song was to have this event that comes along once in a lifetime but then you miss it, so that was the starting off point for having this strange sisyphus figure rolling this comet like sphere past all these people and carrying them off somewhere at the end of it.” Video art at the service of Django Django's oblique pop.
