It may be that the city of Sydney, Australia, is not a reference point on the global bass music map, but it looks as though that could all change thanks to the efforts of artists like Dizz1. Australian Dizz1, drummer and turntablist, has already collaborated with Steve Spacek and Mark Pritchard (a.k.a. Harmonic 313). His first 12” for Nod Navigators, “3rd Time Lucky” , won the accolades of Mary Anne Hobbs and Benji B. His live show at Sónar’s Red Bull Music Academy stage confirmed that this Australian has taste and talent for the hybrid beats -wonky, future funk, atypical dubstep – and always drinking from a huge dose of bass.
