Bon Iver’s second album has all the right papers to become one of the albums of the year, but the videos, or at least, this one of “Calgary”... Well, it features some symbolic images that are hard to link with the lightness and fresh air of the song. A woman lying in bed gets what we believe is a call of nature and starts walking barefoot, over muddy paths in only a light dress, until she meets a man she connects with. They both enter a kind of enchanted wood and... you can discover the rest yourself. The video is directed by Andre Durand and Dan Huiting, taking leave from an original idea by Justin Vernon himself. If this cinematic psycho-magic exercise doesn’t convince you, we recommend you take a look at this unofficial video. In four minutes you’ll see some of the best parts of the UK, Iceland, Greenland and Canada.
