There are two kinds of people: those who want grunge to come back and those who think (which is not the same thing) that the most genuine rock movement of the nineties is back already. Both types will be happy with this band who are one of the new favourites of the indie scene: Yuck. Signed to Fat Possum, their debut album from early this year is one of the gems of the season for those who like their songs at two speeds, raging and slow, slightly messy and, in general, abrasive and genuinely angsty. Daniel Blumberg, the soul of the trio, sends us his list of small pleasures, his favourite writers, dogs and people. Maybe grunge won’t ever fully return, who knows, but this list will be around forever.
Daniel Blumberg, leader of Yuck, shares his small pleasures with us: books, stories, records, dogs, people, fish, everything that makes the life of one of the people responsible for the return of grunge all the better.
