What to do in NY

Sepalcure, the duo formed by Travis Stewart (alias Machinedrum) and Praveen Sharma (alias Praveen), with two singles out on Hotflush ( “Love Pressure”, from 2010, and the still fresh “Fleur”, from this year), are New Yorkers and they know the streets of Brooklyn like the back of their hand. And they know what’s out there. Which is why, coinciding with their performance at Unsound (8th April at the Public Assembly, as part of the Bass Mutations night), they give you a few tips as to how to enjoy the city the most. Give thanks! Things to do in New York white at Unsound Festival 1. Halcyon NYC

One of the last, proper record shops left in Brooklyn worth visiting. For the vinyl lovers. Found a few Acapellas we've used in here. Located in DUMBO, Brooklyn.

2. Pizza at Grimaldi's in DUMBO

One of the best in New York, possibly the best pizza on earth. Go early, like before noon, to beat the rush. Wood-fired perfection awaits.

3. Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge

This is one of the great engineering marvels of New York, and offers stunning views of Manhattan and the city. The entrance is right near Grimaldi's, so eat a pizza and then walk it off.

4. Other Music

Wider selection of non electronic music than Halcyon and a jaw dropping bunch of far out picks that will steer your ears in new directions.

5. Pies n Thighs

Southern comfort food by way of Brooklyn. Some of the best food the borough has to offer, and a great beer selection as well. Wander through South Williamsburg after lunch and marvel at the clash of cultures - Hasidim, Puerto Ricans, and hipsters all call the area home.

6. The Brooklyn Flea

It kicks off its new Williamsburg residency on 4/3, and is, as always, in Fort Greene starting 4/2 and DUMBO starting 4/3. A must see for antiques, Brooklyn made crafts, and awesome food.

7. Dumont Burger / Dumont

Two of our favourite spots in Brooklyn. Delicious burgers at the burger spot, delicious everything else at the regular restaurant. Walking distance to the Bunker events. Possibly the best Mac & Cheese in Brooklyn.

8. BAM

In the mood for a movie? How bout a quality dance performance? Maybe an Opera? This spot, located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, has got your indie shows sorted.

9. The Ear Inn

One of the oldest bars in New York, this spot on Spring Street is low key and welcoming - just don't use your phone inside. In operation since 1817, the original boundaries of the Hudson are clearly visible next to the bar's door. The river currently lies 200 yards away, across the West Side Highway. 300 years of garbage made this possible!

10. Still in town Monday night ?

Check out Sepalcure's Percussion Lab Radio show, streaming live from Sweet Revenge in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Special guests included. Starts at 9PM EST Monday April 11th. Check for more information.
